Ali Alizada, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has met with Asad Qaiser, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Ali Alizada noted that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to the relations with Pakistan, and Pakistan is a friendly and brotherly country for Azerbaijan. Expressing that the close ties of friendship and brotherhood between the leaders of the two countries and their continious meetings have created conditions for the establishment of relations between our countries at the highest level, the Ambassador stated that both countries support each other in all international issues. Informing about the recent provocations and insidious intentions of Armenia against Azerbaijan, Ali Alizada thanked the Government of Pakistan for supporting Azerbaijan's fair position and condemning Armenia with its official statement. Stressing the important role of parliaments in the establishment of friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, the Ambassador told that adoption of resolutions which strongly condemned Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan and recognized Khojaly Genocide by the Standing Committees on Foreign Affairs of the Senate of Pakistan in 2012 and of the National Assembly of Pakistan in 2017, is a manifestation of this friendship and brotherhood between our countries and are always appreciated.

Asad Qaiser, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan noted that Azerbaijan is a brotherly country for Pakistan and Pakistan is interested in further enhancing political, economic and inter-parliamentary ties with Azerbaijan. Stating that Pakistan has always stood by and supported Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Speaker expressed that it is necessary to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh and Kashmir issues on the basis of relevant UN Security Council resolutions. Emphasizing the importance of inter-parliamentary relations, Chairman of the National Assembly stated that the activities will be continued to further strengthen relations with the Parliament of Azerbaijan, as well as increase efforts to expand ties in the economic and trade spheres.
