NOTIFICATION FOR PAKISTANI CITIZENS WISHING TO TRAVEL TO OR INVEST IN THE OCCUPIED TERRITORIES OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN

It is a clear fact that many foreign businessmen, who had been invited to the Republic of Armenia, were directed to illegally invest in the occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan by Armenia, in an attempt to solidify the consequences of the invasion. These efforts of Armenia are set to undermine relations of Azerbaijan with other countries, as well as with brotherly Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Therefore, we would like to remind all nationals of foreign countries, wishing to travel to Nagorno Karabakh and other occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan that due to the continuing occupation by the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia, those territories are temporarily out of control of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Any visit to or investment in the above-mentioned territories, which are internationally recognized as an integral part of Azerbaijan, without the consent of the Republic of Azerbaijan is considered as a violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity, breach of national legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as norms and principles of the international law.

Azerbaijan and Pakistan support each other on all major issues in bilateral and international platforms and Pakistan has not recognized Armenia as a state, and demonstrated solidarity with Azerbaijan against Armenia’s plans to deceive foreign businessmen into illegally investing in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan - Nagorno-Karabakh and other adjacent districts.

Once again, we call Pakistani citizens and all nationals of foreign countries to refrain from visits and investment in Nagorno Karabakh and other territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan occupied by the armed forces of Armenia. Persons who have visited or invested in the occupied territories without the prior consent of the Government of Azerbaijan, will be denied the entry to the Republic of Azerbaijan and in case of necessity, appropriate legal actions will be taken with regard to  these persons according to the national legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as norms and principles of the international law.
