The seminar on “Role of visionary leaders in the development of Youth: Heydar Aliyev and Muhammad Ali Jinnah” and inaugural ceremony of Pakistan Azerbaijan Alumni Association was held at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT).
Addressing the seminar Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Ali Alizada said that both of these leaders laid the foundation of their countries and national youth strategies were the central part of their state policy. Ambassador noted that after regaining its independence, over the past 25 years, Azerbaijan has been successfully developing in all fields and the youth also play an important role in the development of the country. He also said that, “today we see the effect of the right decisions that were adopted at that time. Today youth are active players in governance of the country and they represent the country at high levels abroad in all areas – political, economical, social, scientific, cultural and other. And a number of international organizations recognize that Azerbaijan conducts a state policy that was designed for the bright future of youth.” Ambassador stressed that Azerbaijani and Pakistani youth enjoy very close and fruitful relations, but our common values, national interests and far-sighted political prospects show that our youth should be closer to each other, more active, always united and cooperative. He expressed his goal as healthy, intelligent, educated, patriotic youth and at the same time committed to national values. He noted that youth should always be ready to defend their countries and this same defence should be conducted not only on the front line, but also on media, on social media, in education, culture and different activities.
Ali Alizada emphasized that he hopes “Pakistan-Azerbaijan Alumni Association” will also serve to the ideas of the great leaders, to further unite peoples, as well as youth of both countries and will play its active role in bilateral relations and cooperation.
Speaking to the audience, the other speakers of the seminar Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar - Rector of the CIIT, Dr. S. M. Junaid Zaidi – Executive Director of COMSATS, Dr. Riaz Ahmad - Professor (R) Quaid-i-Azam University, Dr. Arshad Malik - Head of the International Relations Department of the CIIT also emphasized the role of leaders in the development of youth and countries. Engr. Qaisar Nawab, program officer of international office of CIIT said Pakistan Azerbaijan Alumni Association will promote common interests and well-being of the youth of both countries by conducting welfare activities for the personal and professional development of youth. He informed that Association is going to work closely with the Embassy of Azerbaijan to foster the sense of close working relationship between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
