Ambassador Ali Alizada noted that Azerbaijan’s diplomacy celebrate its 100th anniversary this year, whether after the restoration of its independence or in the period of the Democratic Republic, Azerbaijan pursued a foreign policy based on friendship, cooperation, mutual respect. An independent, pragmatic and balanced multilateral foreign policy led to the formation of a good neighborhood environment around Azerbaijan and except the invader Armenia, Azerbaijan has a strong and close friendship relations with all the countries of the world. The Ambassador noted that friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are a sign of this strategic partnership, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan pays special attention to the relations with Pakistan and Azerbaijan always supports Pakistan in all international and regional issues.
Ambassador Ali Alizada, who shared his views on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, said that as a result of the aggressive policy of Armenia, Azerbaijanis suffering from Armenian terror and brutality. “The 27th anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide will be commemorated on February 26 and that this genocide is one of the most striking example of Armenian vandalism which destroyed the ancient Khojaly overnight. Ambassador emphasized that Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize the Khojaly genocide and that its resolutions were a humanistic step taken to restore justice and Pakistan's support to Azerbaijan has always been welcomed with great satisfaction.
While answering the questions on Azerbaijan's education system, culture, science, healthcare and economy, Ali Alizada noted that despite the consequences of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the aggressive policy of Armenia against Azerbaijan, as a result of the successful policy pursued by the country's leadership and implemented reforms, Azerbaijan is rapidly developing because of the favorable conditions for entrepreneurial activity and the economy of the country was able to minimize its dependence on oil and provides economic growth in the non-oil sector. Noting that Azerbaijan is interested in boosting cooperation with Pakistan in economic and commercial spheres, Ambassador gave information about potentials and opportunities in this area: “There are opportunities for mutual investments, and establishing direct flights between the two countries will increase number of visits even more, while in just two years this number has increased more than 10 times and will grow even further.” Emphasizing the development of relations in the humanitarian and social spheres, the Ambassador confirmed the words of the interviewer who said that the works carried out in Pakistan with the initiative and support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its President Mehriban Aliyeva, were resulted granting her the highest award of Pakistan.
Ambassador Ali Alizada also shared his views on Azerbaijan's efforts in restoration of peace and stability in Afghanistan, Pakistan’s acitvities and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and extremism, and on Azerbaijan's position on Kashmir and other issues.
