The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Pakistan in collaboration with the Measac Research Center of Pakistan organized a seminar on "Nagorno-Karabakh conflict - Military and Political Resolution" to inform the Pakistani public on the latest aggression and war crimes of Armenia against Azerbaijan, counter-offensive and successful peace enforcement operation and victory of Azerbaijan.

The seminar were attended by the convener of Pakistan-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group in the Senate, senator Mohammad Talha Mahmood, number of government officials, Director General of the Measac Research Center Mohammad Abdullah Hamid Gul, foreign ambassadors and diplomats to Pakistan, public and media representatives of Pakistan. Seminar started with the commemoration of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the motherland.

After the demonstration of some part of the interviews given by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the international media regarding the conflict which caused great interest and sympathy to the Pakistani public, retired serviceman Abdul Rahman Bilal made a presentation based on the collected facts of successful military operations, which resulted in victory of Azerbaijan, the military aggression and provocations committed by Armenia against Azerbaijan, and told that many countries will use Azerbaijan's experience in the future.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Ali Alizada gave an information about the history of Karabakh, the resettlement of Armenians and the massacres committed by them over the past two centuries, the failure of efforts to resolve the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict for nearly 30 years, non-implementation of the UN Security Council resolutions, and lack of necessary pressures on occupier Armenia by the world community and international organizations, especially by the Minsk Group countries. The Ambassador told that Armenia's military aggression and provocations against Azerbaijan, especially the attacks on the civilian population of our country, which started with the aggressive policy and inappropriate statements of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who came to power in Armenia in 2018, compelled Azerbaijan to carry out peace enforcement operation by using the right of self-defense. He added that Armenia capitulated as a result of successful operation led by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of Azerbaijan in response to the Armenian provocations since September 27. Ali Alizada noted that during the war, Armenia resorted to provocations, such as involving third countries in the conflict and dressing up the conflict in the guise of religious confrontation. Ambassador informed that Armenia committed war crimes by using high-powered missiles on Ganja, Barda, Tartar, Mingachevir, and other settlements of Azerbaijani cities and on the civilian population of our country, as well as using mercenaries and terrorists in the war which are against the norms and principles of international law, including the obligations of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention, and added that Armenian military-political leadership is responsible for these crimes. Ambassador stressed that Azerbaijan won not only the war but also the conflict by forcing Armenia to peace, and extended his deep gratitutde to the people and the government of Pakistan for their political and moral support, as well as principled position in these difficult days.

Addressing at the seminar, convener of Pakistan-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group senator Mohammad Talha Mahmood and Director General of the Measac Research Center Mohammad Abdullah Hamid Gul also spoke about the military aggression and provocations of Armenia against Azerbaijan, as well as the resolute prevention of the brutal attacks on the civilian population of Azerbaijan by the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and declared that the liberation of the occupied territories is the right of Azerbaijan and is fully based on international law.
