Azerbaijan Language and Culture Center reopens in Pakistan

The Azerbaijan Language and Culture Center has been reopened at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), one of Pakistan’s most prestigious higher education institutions.

Khazar Farhadov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan; Shahid Mahmood Kayani, NUML Rector; vice rectors of Pakistani higher education institutions; academic staff; members of think tanks; and Azerbaijani Embassy staff attended the opening ceremony.

The event commenced with performances of the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

Addressing the event, NUML Rector Shahid Mahmood Kayani noted that the activity of the Pakistan Cultural Center at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) and the Azerbaijan Language and Culture Center at NUML contributes significantly to enhancing the existing multifaceted relations between the two countries.

In his video message, Kamal Abdulla, AUL Rector, stressed the importance of educational cooperation in boosting bilateral relations grounded in solid foundations and deep historical roots.

Ambassador Khazar Farhadov highlighted the rapidly developing Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations, including the operation of direct flights from Baku to Lahore and Islamabad, the activity of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, and the working groups formed within the commission.

According to him, the Azerbaijan Language and Culture Center, which has been operating since June 2022, contributes to deepening bilateral relations across scientific, educational, cultural, and humanitarian domains.
