Ali Alizada, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic Pakistan had a meeting with Asad Qaiser, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Ali Alizada, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic Pakistan had a meeting with Asad Qaiser, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

 Ali Alizada conveyed greetings of the Chairman of the Parliament of Azerbaijan to the Speaker of the Assembly and noted that Pakistan is a friendly and brotherly country for Azerbaijan. He said that the relations between two countries are developing at the highest level and inter-parliamentary relations play an important role in development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. The Ambassador emphasized the adoption of resolutions by the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate of Pakistan, in 2012 and by the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly of Pakistan, in 2017, which recognize the Khojaly genocide, as well as support the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and demand immediate liberation of the occupied Azerbaijani territories by Armenia. “This is a manifestation of the friendship and brotherhood.”

Chairman of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan requested to convey his warm greetings to the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament and stressed that he would be pleased to welcome him in Pakistan. The Speaker noted that  Pakistan appreciates the close friendship and brotherly relations with Azerbaijan and is interested in strengthening these ties. Speaking about the formation of the new Pakistan-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group in the National Assembly, the Speaker said that more than 100 MNAs joined this group and this is an indicator of growing interest in Azerbaijan, which is a reliable partner. Stressing the importance of mutual support between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, Asad Qaiser noted that efforts to further strengthen inter-parliamentary relations will continue, along with the expansion of ties in other spheres.
