Presentation ceremony of the anniversary medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the Joint Staff Headquarters of Pakistan Armed Forces

The ceremony organized in this regard was attended by General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, generals and senior officers of Pakistan Army, as well as the staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Pakistan.

 Speaking after the national anthems of both countries, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Ali Alizada talked about the common ties, friendship, strategic partnership between the two countries and the special importance attached by the leaderships of the countries to the relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. He also mentioned special contribution made by close cooperation and friendship of the leaders and peoples of both countries for the deepening and improvement of the fraternal relations, which positively affects defense, security, military and military-technical areas as well. Stressing the increasing number of new projects implemented in the fields of military and military-technical cooperation, trainings, exchange of experience and the improving relations, the Ambassador also emphasized the great role of the Armed Forces of both countries, including the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan and its Chairman in strengthening this cooperation.

Ambassador said that by the relevant order of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was conferred with the Jubilee Medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan - “100th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Service Bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan (1919-2019)” for his special services in the improvement and strengthening the relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan and he was pleased to present that medal to General Zubair Mahmood Hayat.

General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan emphasized that he attaches great importance to the relations with fraternal Azerbaijan, and the two countries have always supported each other in Nagorno-Karabakh and Kashmir issues. “Pakistan does not recognize Armenia as a state and the UN resolutions should be implemented unconditionally”, he said. General Zubair Mahmood Hayat recalled his visits to Azerbaijan, the sincere welcome extended to him by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as his meetings with his counterparts, and expressed his satisfaction with the current level of military relations between the two countries and said that this improvement would continue. General Zubair Mahmood Hayat expressed his honor for being conferred with the Jubilee Medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan - “100th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Service Bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan (1919-2019)” and asked to convey his gratitude to the leadership and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

After the presentation of the medal, the memorial photos were taken and the military orchestra of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan performed military anthems and music of Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
