The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Pakistan hosted an event dedicated to Novruz holiday

Representatives of Pakistani government officials, MPs, Ambassadors of foreign countries in Pakistan, diplomats and the public representatives were present at the event, which exemplifies Azerbaijani culture, national and moral values, as well as cuisine.

Speaking at the event, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Ali Alizada said that March 21, 2010 was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly as "International Novruz Day" by the initiative of Azerbaijan and other countries  which celebrate Novruz and noted that this holiday has been celebrated annually in Azerbaijan for many centuries and is tied to ancient historical roots and cultural values and congratulated the participants on the occasion of forthcoming Novruz holiday.The Ambassador also spoke about  the national traditions of Novruz in Azerbaijan, the arrival of spring and renewal of nature a month previous with the celebration of our nation's various festivals and ceremonies through water, fire, wind and land has shown high respect for its historical and cultural past and its deep commitment to national and moral values.

At the event, video clips related to Novruz traditions were presented, national music of Azerbaijan were played, Shakarbura, Pakhlava, Qoghal, Dolma, Lavangi, Plov, and other samples of national cuisine were presented to the guests,
